The special show ‘Homage to Eric Slater’ interested lots of people, perhaps we should repeat this another year – judging by the comments visitors made about the Van Gogh poster in the entry hall, perhaps we should pay homage to one of the greats next time!
Lisa Taylor did a sterling job manning the cards section every day and I produced yet another rendition of my grand-daughter – this time in pastels. Jeremy demonstrated his iPad art and visitors had the chance to try out new mediums.
The number of new members who exhibited as well as long standing members was very pleasing. There were many compliments about the standard of the work and 4 or 5 people interested in joining us.
Au plein air
Our first ‘au plein air’ on July 4th was well attended down at the Buckle, although some took advantage of the weather and did a bit of sunbathing instead of drawing – good for them.
The now regular coffee mornings, also at the Buckle –the Yacht Club was also enjoyable – so don’t forget the next one on August 4th 10-11.30. It’s turning into a really pleasant occasion with little or no talk of paintings.
