Annual Art Show
The exhibition was a great success. Thanks to all who entered pictures, all of our stewards. There were some great comments in the visitor’s book (see the picture on this entry, click on it to enlarge) and all who came in praised the quality and high standard of the entries – some even liked my abstract Purple Rain!!
Trip to Dulwich
The trip to Dulwich Picture Gallery to see the Ravilious exhibition went really well. A large and comfortable coach with air conditioning, a great driver and a superb exhibition which has really changed my earlier opinion on Ravilious’s work. Only snag of the day was the long wait to pay the entry fee – 1 person talking the money is really not on.
First out door painting session
This week is to the Monk’s House (NT), Rodmell. Meet there at 2pm on Friday and spend as much time as you like in the house & garden, although sketching/painting should only be in the garden. National Trust entry fee payable on arrival (£5.25) or free to NT members.
New Artwork for the Golf Club
Jeremy & I are in the process of collecting fresh work to be shown at the Golf Club. If you have indicated you want to put in pictures do please get them to me (or Jeremy) by the end of this week. There are no restrictions on the subject matter this time but those whose work has already been hung there will have to go back on the waiting list.
Our membership is now full (at 55 members) If you know of anyone wishing to join us please let me know as I have started a waiting list.
I look forward to seeing you at Monk’s House on Friday.
