Unfortunately I do have some sad news. Bill Brinkley, who joined the club just last year, passed away in hospital on 22nd April. He didn’t receive the card we had sent him but his family did and were touched by our thoughts. They will let me know when the funeral is taking place so that those who would like to attend. Bill was a lovely man who was never far from his sketch book, Splash Point and the seafront, I will miss him.
Those of you who study your printed programme (???) will realise some of our meetings have been changed. You might like to note that the May 27th Meeting will not now include a ‘bring and buy’ which instead happened last week. I have also, following requests, arranged for another visit from Janet Mcgowan the framer from Eastbourne, and she will be bringing some of her reconditioned and updated frames to show us on June 24th (In time for our exhibition at the end of August). I will of course remind you again nearer the date. I have also arranged for her to have the frames left over from the Bring & Buy sale which were James McLaren’s.
Sale of James’ painting equipment raised £100
At last week's sale of James’ painting equipment, we actually raised around the £100 pounds for the Community Transport Charity. I still have a few more items to sell and I will let you know the final total later.
Theme for this week
This week’s meeting (29th April) should interest you – April Showers is the theme, can I foresee lots of wet pictures?
Next exhibition at the Golf Club
Also please bring in your pictures for selection for the exhibition at the Golf Club. Bill Savidge’s pictures will be coming down on Sunday 1st May, so do have a look if you haven’t seen them yet. I am taking orders for limited edition prints of his paintings and also cards if you would like them.
Next Coffee Morning Monday May 9th
As the first Monday in the month is a Bank Holiday, we’ve moved the COFFEE MORNING to May 9th, same time, same place, Seaford Head Golf Club and 10 ish to 12 ish – all welcome.
