If you haven’t visited Rottingdean before there before there are lovely flint walls, beautiful old terrace houses and an attractive park/garden to explore. But should the weather continue like the start of this week, you can always go to The Downs LC instead.
It was a very successful coffee morning last Monday, lots of people and lots of chat. It was a bit hot and sticky inside, shame they didn’t turn up the air conditioning. But outside it was pleasantly warm, if a touch windy.
We hung the new paintings in the entrance hall and thank you to everyone who loaned the paintings for this exhibition – 19 pictures in all and they do look great. We’re getting lots of good feedback from Golf Club visitors (and staff) so it’s well worth the club’s time to exhibit there. (One of the bar staff was found trying to encourage a sale to a viewer, who turned out to be Marion! But at least he tried).
We’re building up to the Artwave exhibition at the end of August so please circulate posters and fliers (also invitations to the private view on the Friday evening). Do see me at the Downs on Friday and get some copies. Our official Artwave pack has now arrived so we can incorporate their adverting with our own. There is a full page about the club in this month’s Seaford Scene magazine in preparation for the show.
Art Show Stewarding
Do bring your diaries with you to the Downs this Friday as I will now be asking for stewarding assistance. If you show you are expected to take your turn with stewarding, for those of you newer members showing I will try to pair you with someone you know and whose done this for us before. It can be very rewarding talking to viewers – but not hassling them!
Saturday 13th is the Horticultural Show, if you are submitting pictures handing in is Friday 12th evening or early Saturday 13th morning.
