This Friday we will be at the Crouch Gardens and the Peace Garden as long as the weather is reasonable. We have been unlucky this year on Fridays but at least there is the alternative of using The Downs Centre if you don’t want to brave the outdoors. Meeting up at the Crouch about 2pm.
Hardy souls at Piddinghoe
Last week a few hardy souls did turn up at Piddinghoe and were vindicated by the weather actually improving over the afternoon, whilst the rest of us hedged our bets and stayed put at the Downs. Considering it’s holiday time there weren’t many seats to spare there. If the weather is poor again I’ll contact the Downs staff to get more tables set out so there will be enough room. I reduced the number of seats put out for the summer so that for those of us attending it felt a bit cosier!
There are quite a few shows either on or coming up where members are involved. Make a note in your diaries for Art Wave taking place over the Bank Holiday weekend and the following weekend.
Rosemary Drysdale & Dylis Seddon are showing at The Crypt until 20th August.
Maureen Black and Anthony Morgan-Jones (who has just joined Seaford Art Club) are having open house in Hill Rise.
Bill Savidge as at the Art Wave show at 54 Stafford Road.
Visit to The Courtauld Gallery
Just an idea, having seen The Courtauld Gallery mentioned often on the Fake or Fortune programme on BBC1, I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a visit there next year? We might be able to organise a guided tour, entry fee is only £5 (for most of us) and we could go by coach to Somerset House. It could make a lovely, interesting day out and we might even be able to arrange a river trip as well – I’m getting quite carried away here. Do let me know if you’re interested, no commitment expected at this early stage but it would be good to know if anyone else might like to go.
