Bring & Buy
This week is our BRING AND BUY session. I have frames, watercolour paper, cut mounts, acrylic and watercolour paints plus a table easel etc. all from James Maclaren’s daughter. Any money collected from the sale will be going to the Community Bus Service as requested at his funeral. I have marked the price on everything, but please be generous as I have priced things low to ensure they are sold.
Any art items you wish to sell can be bought in as well but make sure they are priced and we know where the money is going to – eg charity, or the club or for yourself.
Friday is also a good opportunity to practice your quick sketches either painting or drawing and ‘loosening up’.
Golf Club Exhibition
I will need to bring forward the date for bringing in your entries for the Golf Club exhibition to next week, (29th April) as Bill’s pictures are due to come down at the end of April and we don’t want to leave the walls bare.
Don’t forget this month’s challenge – Self Portrait – if you haven’t started one yet get going soon, they need to be ready for the 6th May. Don’t sign them and we can all guess who’s is who!!
May’s Challenge is Still Life- (flowers and/or leaves) this should be a very popular challenge.
Copies of Bill’s paintings
We are now in a position to sell copies of Bill’s paintings, if anyone is interested they are A2 size – at £35 each, they will be part of a limited edition of 20 prints from each original. We can also have cards made selling at £1.50 each. Any profits will go to Bill’s widow, Brenda, and she will decide what to do with any proceeds. Let me know if you are interested.
As I cannot give everyone a copy of all the names and addresses of club members, should you wish to contact another member, please feel free to ring me and I can give it to you over the phone – please don’t Email me for this information.
