Not sure if all of us achieved that aim, I didn't but there were certainly some creative uses of material (Sorry not to show more examples of these as most of the pictures I took were not good enough to use). Lisa can always be relied upon to come up with something to make you smile and Anne managed to nearly complete her large painting in two hours! including signing in the members and doing all her normal duties.
Remember this Friday (21st) is life drawing and we have two male models this time. There will be two short 10 minute poses followed by 2 longer poses of approximately 45 minutes each. There will also be a few tables for those not wanting to participate. Jeremy
Great news for Marion
Great news for Marion last week, one of her paintings has been selected to be included in the ‘Inspired by Nymans’ exhibition which will run from 6th Dec 2014 until 22nd Feb 2015 at Nymans. The picture ‘Nymans Wisteria Archway, Winter’ was done before she had her accident and was inspired by a visit to Nymans one winter when she came across a wall archway supporting intricate, entwining branches of 2 wisteria. Since that time one of the wisterias has been removed and Marion is so pleased she took the opportunity to paint the scene whilst they were both there. Many congratulations to Marion and I’m sure in the not too distant future we’ll be enjoying her art work again as her hand and wrist gains strength. She has worked so hard to get her hand working again and this must give her even more encouragement to regain her old skills. It has given me and I’m sure others great pleasure to see these skills re-emerging.
St James’ Trust tea room
I took the opportunity to go to the St James’ Trust tea room on Monday morning, to have a look at the pictures on show (and for sale ) by Jan Norman and Jane Gayler. The paintings looked good and the tea & biscuit was fantastic at only £1 per cup. Well worth a visit one morning between 10 and 12 each day.
