Lovelyday again today. We were hoping last Sunday’s rain would clear by Monday morning as we had tickets for the Brighton I360 at mid day. What a delight to wake to clear skies and sunshine. We all enjoyed it (although weren’t tempted to the Nyetimber bubbly at £10 a glass). The views were fantastic and if you haven’t been do give it a try, having been up in bright sunshine I would love to see it in the evening, the lights would be fantastic too. Can’t believe how still it is out there this morning what a change from last month! I can hear the landscapers out there in our garden replacing fence posts which were snapped in the gales – my goodness it must be cold for them out there – perhaps I’d better make some more tea for them.
Art in the Cold Weather winner
Congratulations to Jan Firbank for winning last month’s challenge of ‘Cold Weather’. We had a great set of entries but the most votes went to Jan for a great painting. This month’s Challenge is ‘COLLAGE’ with judging on 3rd February. So get out your sticking and pasting brushes!
I must thank Alan Wagstaffe and a prospective new member Sally – Mae for sitting as impromptu models for portraits, which help produce some great drawings.
This Friday — please pay your Subs
For those who haven’t heard yet! This week’s meeting is for the payment of your subs. £35 per year and cheques to be made payable to SEAFORD ART CLUB. We have no set theme for the week so you can paint or draw at will.
Coffee morning 9th January
Don’t forget the first coffee morning of the year is on MONDAY 9TH JANUARY at Seaford Head Gold Course, as usual between 10 and 12 ish – everyone welcome.
Jake Winkle workshop 21st January
Bill Burchell has asked me to remind those booked on the Jake Winkle workshop that this is on Saturday 21st January. An email has been sent to all those booked together with a list of suggested materials. Any queries to Bill.
I had an interesting copy of the Crypt Newsletter the other day that mentioned they were in the process of updating the lighting and hanging equipment – YIPPEEE! At last – good news for our future exhibition.
Don’t forget the meeting on Friday 13th is a chance to ‘Bring & Buy’ your surplus art supplies. Do make sure it is marked with price wanted and your name so the money goes to the right people.
