This week's outdoor venue
This week’s outdoor venue (on the 8th) is Denton Island, take the l.h turn over the little bridge from the Newhaven one way system (towards the Fludes Carpet shop). There is parking on the roads and views of the industrial areas of Newhaven, lots of small boats as well as larger bulk carriers on the River Ouse. I just hope the weather is kinder to us. The Downs will also be available as usual.
I won’t be with you this week as David & I have been invited to the 80th birthday party for David’s uncle, which sounds nice to you learn that it’s a picnic lunch at the top of Leith Hill, which is apparently a half hour climb from the car park. Believe it or not this was the birthday boy’s choice, not sure it would have been mine!
Good to see so many of you at the coffee morning and a special big thankyou to Michele for playing hide & seek with Kyla – and wearing her out!
I hope you all had time to look at our new display there which this month only contains the winning picture from the Rotary Club’s young artist competition.
David Bomberg at the Towner
Next week (15th July) we’re spending time at the Towner Art Gallery in Eastbourne. I am hoping we can have one of the curator’s staff with us to give us some background to the David Bomberg paintings, but I’m still awaiting their response to my enquiry. We will be getting there about 11am and then wandering off to the beach or town/parks to paint and sketch. If you would like transport do let me know and I’ll see if we can help.
