For those who haven’t tried working out of doors, I think you are really missing out on something special. Working direct in the open air can’t be beaten. It really adds an extra dimension to your work.
Give it a go
Many people feel too shy to work outside. Going out in a group with people you know is a real help as it gives you some confidence. Normally you are able sit on your own, perhaps in a corner with your back to the wall. Very rarely will anyone bother you… so go on, give it a try. You don’t have to create a masterpiece, just try making some working drawings or sketches for a painting to make back home. You can follow your sketches up with a reminder snap taken on your mobile. Or, do nothing and just enjoy the venue.
Venue next week (24th) — The Long House, Westdean (Parking available). Full details how to get there will be in our weekly email.
The 'Downs' is available every Friday
Remember, for those who can't paint outside or if the weather is just too bad, the 'Downs' is available every Friday (Don't worry if there are only one of two attending it has been booked).
