Ightham Moat Visit — book now
Our planned visit to IGHTHAM MOAT is being booked, so make sure you put your name down on the list if you want to go. The date will be September 22nd which is a Thursday so we can avoid some of the Friday rush hour traffic. Jan Firbank and Nina Gatward are running this trip so you can talk to them about it if you have any queries.
Marion has asked me to tell you that the Horticultural Club have again set some subjects for their painting competition. The subjects are ‘Landscape’ and ‘Still Life’. The date for handing in is 12th and 13th August. Lots of notice so get painting – we always put on a good show and the paintings are judged by an independent judge and seen by lots of visitors to the Horticultural Show.
Don’t forget the ‘May Challenge’ the subject is ‘Still Life flowers and/or leaves. Entries will be judged on the 3rd June (and you could always use the still life for the Horticultural Show!).
Jeremy has been working on a Health & Safety policy for the Friday Sessions. This will be circulated shortly to everyone – the policy is necessary both as a safeguard for our members and it will be a requirement for the hiring of the hall in future.
I still have a few entry forms for the Friends of Eastbourne Hospital art show. If you want one please ask at the next meeting.
See you all on Friday – with your sketch books — Anne
