During the lunch last Friday I tried to say hello to everyone, apologies to those I missed out. But those I talked to seemed to all have thoroughly enjoyed their meal and had a good time.
It is not everyday we can get together and enjoy a meal with friends and partners. I think we must all pat ourselves on the back for being such a sociable bunch. Thanks to everyone who came and made it such an enjoyable afternoon.
No bad jokes
Speeches are not good for me and who wants to listen to an expansive rambling resume of a year in the life of SAC ending in a bad joke. I just wanted everyone to show their appreciation for all the hard work, time and effort put in by Anne Benson and to Bill Savidge who arranged and sorted out everyone’s menu (no mean task), and then let everyone get on and enjoy their meal.
PS: Several members were unable to make our lunch due to illness and other unforeseen reasons and I am sure you will join me and hope their problems will be resolved very soon.
This week’s subject is ‘The Downs in Spring’
This year with our subjects we want members to celebrate our immediate environment in their work. I think Spring is indeed in the air. Perhaps the grass has not got going yet but plenty of bulbs are popping up and there is a little warmth in the sun and so much more light now.
NB: There is no meeting on Good Friday and no coffee morning on Easter Monday.
