This week’s theme is ‘Still Life’ something broken just to make a challenging subject for you. As usual you don’t have to follow the programme but it is good to see so many of you ‘having a go’. Last week there were lots of ‘windy’ pictures using the theme – all different, all showing the quality work of our membership.
We also had a great response to the Monthly Challenge on the theme of ‘Still Life’ Books. Well done Tania White for her winning entry. The April Challenge Is ‘My Favourite View’ so go on have a go.
New to outdoor painting
We have our first committee meeting for the new committee tomorrow, so we’ll be planning lots of interesting suggestions for the Autumn Programme as well as our Summer En Plein Air painting sessions – hopefully planned with a view to either lunch or tea at the venues. We will also take on board the suggestion that members new to outdoor painting can be paired with a more experienced member to work alongside them. I am sure many of us found outdoor painting a bit daunting at first but you can soon get used to strangers ‘looking’ and you can always flick paint at those who give helpful tips!!
DON’T FORGET THE FIRST OF THE ‘LAST MINUTE PAINTERS’ POP UP START ON APRIL 8 9TH APRIL AT THE CRYPT GALLERY. The some of the new hangers will be in use and I believe the lighting has been updated, so it will be interesting to see the changes. Several of our members will be showing so do go along to give them support as well.
I eventually had 22 pictures to hang at the Golf Club on Monday – a lovely selection of work for visitors to look at (and buy). We sold 4 from the last show so sales are still going well. Any pictures still not collected, I will return them to you on Friday at our meeting.
