Summer Art Programme
Some of those attending had the chance to pre-view our next programme (and spot the mistakes!). Once it’s printed I’ll be handing them out and they will then also be on our website and Jeremy will hopefully add some links to Google Maps to help you find the lesser known Painting locations.
This week’s theme
This week’s theme is ‘Portraits in pairs’. The idea is to pair up with another member and do a quick sketch of them then change round for them to ‘do’ you. Should be a fun way to start the session and we can have a look at them all at the end – no prizes though!!
Last Month's Challenge — Still Life – flowers and/or leaves
Last month’s challenge (Still Life – flowers and/or leaves) produced a large number of excellent entries. There were a number of queries about how many entries artists could entered and whether the painting had to be exactly true to the theme. On both counts I can only say there are no ‘rules’ as to the number of entries one person can submit – and as to the subject, again there are no rules, it is up to the individual artist to interpret the theme. In the past there have been comments about ‘copied’ work being presented, so let’s be honest we all ‘copy’ other’s work (or are influenced by it) from time to time, be it a painting or a photograph – this is an internal ‘challenge’ for fun in an informal setting, if you don’t like the resulting entry you have a simple way of showing it – don’t vote for it.
