Two very interesting and contrasting models again for this Life Drawing session. One young woman with a beautiful, curving, smooth skinned body and the longest plait of dark hair (down to her ankles) and the other an older man, showing the bones and wrinkles of a passing lifetime. The time was divided, with a tea break half way, so that the models could change positions and the artists had a chance to draw or paint both of them. Some of our members work can be seen below.
Our suggested topic this week was a City Street Scene. It was quite a challenge and one that was only taken up by a few people. Most were done with little or no reference material and the results were impressively varied. We had a French style scene in oils, a New York style scene using pens and crayons, a collage cityscape made from cut pages from a magazine, a watercolour scene with people and a charcoal abstract scene.
