Marion asked me to thank the artists who entered for making it such a good exhibition, we had lots of lovely comments but unfortunately no sales. However it lets the people of Seaford know what talent they have on their doorstep and adds another dimension to the Horticultural Show.
Last week in Southease
At last the weather was kind to us last Friday when 13 of us went to a lovely garden in Southease. We were able to sit around the garden and lake to paint & draw in the sunshine and enjoy the peace of the garden and in the company of ducks who were very friendly. A small collection was made at the end and passed on to the garden owner, Neville Harrison, which he will donate to the lovely church on the village green. If you haven’t been to Southease it’s well worth a visit, a typical tranquil English Village. No shops, no pub, a lovely round tower church and chocolate box cottages – what more could you ask for and under 10 miles from Seaford!
This Friday 14th Piddinghoe is the venue
Next Friday the 14th, we’ll be outside at Piddinghoe from 2 till 4, somewhere either by the church (good parking), down by the river (behind the church) or by the sailing club – all good painting spots. Bring your paints, pencils, easels and paper and possibly an umbrella – for sun or rain -. I’m afraid there are no facilities for us to use at this venue.
Work for exhibiting at Seaford Head Golf Course
The Downs will of course still be available for those who wish to stay indoors. This week I will go to the Downs so if any of you would like to bring in your paintings for possible inclusion in the Golf Club Exhibition, please leave them there for me. (Those of you who haven’t yet had the opportunity to show at the Golf Club have all been notified by email, so you should already know the criteria for selection. Please make sure your work is properly presented for showing.
