The garden is normally only open for the NGS scheme and entry is £5 per person, there are toilets and maybe tea & cakes (only don’t bank on that). For those of you who’ve been before please remember parking is limited, share cars if possible – phone me if you want a lift or can offer a seat, (01323 491008). There is also some cover there if this weather doesn’t continue. If you haven’t been before here is a link to their website www.thelonghousegarden.co.uk
Don’t forget, coffee morning is 7TH SEPT. This will be an ideal opportunity to swap the paintings currently hanging in the corridor and restaurant. Bring along any paintings you wish to hang (not too many!) and Jeremy & I do what we can to oblige. Please also pick up any paintings which we take down. A spy has also told me that the new Chef is baking gooey cakes, we might just be lucky to get a splice!
Art Exhibition 2017
A quick mention of our very successful Art Exhibition, we had over 1000 visitors, sold 24 framed paintings and portfolios and loads of cards, most importantly though we had some great comments in the visitor’s book and verbally about the quality and variety of our work. We know how good we are but it’s always pleasurable to hear it from the general public and fellow artists.
For those who are awaiting payment from sales, I will have it with me at the Coffee Morning and at the Long House, but if you would like to come to me to pick it, please feel free, but ring me first to make sure I’m in (and dressed!)
Directions to Long House
The Long House is in Westdean (BN25 4AL), just off the A259 between Eastbourne and Seaford. To find our house turn left at the T-junction by the village pond as you enter Westdean, and head up the hill about 100 yards. (If you rely on a SatNav put in our postcode BN25 4AL…it’ll take you to The Old Parsonage: entrance to The Long House garden is fifty yards to the west.) We’re on the South Downs Way so walkers shouldn’t have any problems finding us: just keep your eyes peeled.
