Last Monday 1st December was our monthly coffee morning. Despite the cold damp weather there was another good turnout. Everyone seems to enjoy this event but when we are all seated, it can be difficult to socialise with everyone. There is not a lot we can do about this. If we all sat in a large circle I think we would still have a problem hearing each other (please forward any ideas to solve this dilemma to Anne or myself).
This Friday’s session — Chalk in our local landscape?
This Friday’s session has a subject titled ‘Chalk in our local landscape’. Last week someone asked me will we be drawing in chalk! Well, the title wasn't supposed to suggest you have use chalk or draw pieces of it! The main aim was to encourage us take a fresh look at the beauty of our local environment, which because of Calcite makes our immediate landscape so unique.
Lets pay homage to our wonderful landscape
So as we live in such a unique location, lets pay homage to this landscape, its colour, shape, form and the wonderful light by the sea etc... the Downs, cliffs, stormy seas and skies, hills, flint buildings and walls or weather-beaten hawthorn trees laden with bright crimson berries... Maybe this is your chance to try something abstract!
...gosh I was getting carried away there.
