What a great crowd turned up on Friday, our highest number of members (43) all in one place I think ever!! I will try again to rearrange the tables and seats to make sure everyone can have a space. Perhaps some could assist by using an easel or working on the drawing practice using a board, as we do for life and portrait painting, every extra inch saved will help.
This week— talk from Chris Hill
This week’s session is a demo and talk from Chris Hill, a local professional painter, who produces wonderful flower drawings and mixed media. He’s said he will bring along some of his sketch books to demonstrate his mixed media. I really like his paintings, their simplicity belies the work that goes into them and I am sure we can all learn from him. For new members please note there will be no tables put out for your work as we hope everyone will give Chris their undivided attention. Friends are also welcome to attend for £2 for the afternoon.
Monthly art challenge
Don’t forget the monthly challenge. This month’s is ‘View through a window’, entries will be judged on February 5th. All members are welcome to take part. If you haven’t already made a start have a go at home over the next couple of weeks.
If you would like to be nominated for the forthcoming year’s committee do have a word with Jeremy or myself about what it entails and pick up a nomination form.
