Seaford Art Club in Seaford East Sussex, is a friendly group of amateur and more established artists. Our aim is to develop all forms of fine art, bringing together people who are like minded and wish to work in a wide variety of media, sharing ideas, inspiration and helpful information.
We have no formal tutors, however as a member you will be able to access plenty of worthwhile help and advice if you feel you need it. Take a look at our blog and find out what we get up to.
During the year there is a suggested theme for most art sessions, but members are always free to pursue their own approach. For those who enjoy sketching/drawing and painting 'en plein-air', in the summer, members meet up locally around Seaford.
We have an annual lunch party in the new year, and hold a monthly coffee morning for members and their partners. Our club meetings are a social event in themselves and when possible we have demonstrations by professional artists and outings to visit art related events.
Meetings — where and when do we meet?
Currently we hold our meetings every Friday afternoon at the Downs Leisure Centre in Seaford between 2pm — 4pm.
Founded 63 years ago
We are one of the oldest art clubs in the Lewes area. Seaford Art Club was founded in 1954 celebrating 60 years in 2014.
We hold an annual exhibition of current work every summer at the Arts@TheCrypt Gallery in Seaford. This offers an opportunity for members to exhibit at a reasonable cost. In addition, we also have an ongoing exhibition at 'The View' restaurant and bar at Seaford Head Golf Club (this is a public facility and all visitors and non- members are very welcome).
New members are always made welcome. Seaford Art Club does not have a large membership and currently we have a small waiting list. But this situation is always changing. Meetings are held every Friday between 2pm — 4pm at the Downs Leisure Centre, Sutton Road, Seaford, East Sussex, BN25 4QW.
